"Global warming ain't not real."

I agree. Global warming isn't not real. Evolution isn't not real either. And, yeah, the bible doesn't not say so.

What is it exactly that these people read? Which part of the bible said to keep their heads firmly inserted inside their assholes so they'd miss everything happening in the world?

"Thou shalt keep thy self seventeen inches deep in the fowl crevice of thy rear.
For lurking outside lie untruths of scientists and thinkers of note.
Thems ain't not to be accepted in your parts."

John 4:20.

Oh, right...that. That might have been a mistranslation though. I'm pretty sure the original was something about smoking pot.

Unfortunately, there exist a large number of Americans who think this way. They look for excuses to be lazy assholes who don't really believe in anything. They drive to their mailbox all the way at the end of the driveway, because inside it lies a newsletter about combating Jew lies. That way, when they talk to me, they can bring really informed viewpoints to the table.

Redneck: Well, if global warming is real, why isn't it in the bible?

Dan: Why aren't automobiles?

Redneck: You're a dirty Jew.

Dan: True, but what's that got to do with this?

Shit, this argument is annoying. The science is not similar to the stuff in the 70s when a few scientists believed that the Earth was cooling at a alarming rate. The amount of COin the atmosphere definitely matches the increase in temperature with undeniable closeness. There is no debate about the rate of warming being dangerous. There is no debate about our causing the warmth. There is no debate about any of this, except about what to do about it.

The faulty logic that keeps the lie going is similar to the logic that keeps evolution a dubious theory. The people who think the rapture is sure to happen in their lifetime don't even care whether global warming is occurring or if they can do anything about it. They're asking: when the inevitable flood comes, what difference will it make whether we caused it?

That's the wrong question.

Have you ever asked yourself if God evolved? It would seem to be implied by the entire nature of the God that Christians believe in (the trinity). For the life of me, I don't understand how any Christian can deny evolution based on the reasoning that the bible says something else. Have you ever asked what seven days to God might look like down here? If not, get the hell off my site. There is no reason to believe that the Earth was created out of new materials in 7 literal 24-hour days, and if you believe in God you can still believe in rational theories like evolution and global warming.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the people who run this country understand what is happening. Otherwise, it's hard to believe they'd have gotten as far as they have. It's logical enough to me.

The full spectrum of this lie:

Here's how I figure the Republicans in office have managed to say what they keep saying: they believe it is a noble lie. With all the information they have, they must think that global warming is real, being caused by us, and something we can't do anything to curb in a significant manner. That, or they're simply completely evil. Study the above diagram with care. There may be a test tomorrow.

The right question is: "What can you or I do?" And the right answer is: quite a lot.
