Other People's Crap Smells.
There is a unique scent common to used book stores, used CD stores, and thrift
stores. It is not a smell I enjoy, nor do I consider it natural or traditionally
pleasant. It's kind of like the smell of feet mixed with the smell of ass, mixed
with the smell of musty old paper.
At first, I really thought that old paper was the culprit. But then why the
thrift stores? They're the strongest source of this scent, even with no almost
books in many of them! So, I thought, did some of these items smell this bad
before they showed up here? Is there one thing in the building making this...What
is making this smell? I thought and thought, and there is really only one
possible explanation.
People take in their dirty old stuff to sell. Then the germs get down and dirty.
I mean really NASTY. They get it on with the old germs there, creating newer,
weirder-smelling germs that attach themselves to everything in the room. And
then new stuff just keeps being brought in all the time, allowing the old germs
no time to die. They just keep on growing and changing, mixing and morphing. And
at the rate they're
going, there can be no doubt that there is an orgy of disease, a really big shit
monster just waiting to be spawned at your local thrift
store any day now.
It will look something like this.
Beware.
